CRA Compliance & Governance
Accurate Agency Model
The $1.00 portion is collected by Cocendo in its capacity as agent for the Diewert Foundation and is remitted in full to the registered charity, which retains full direction and control over its use.
Commercial Service Clarity
Merchants are purchasing a commercial service (customer engagement and brand visibility). No part of the fee constitutes a charitable gift, and therefore no donation receipt is issued or permitted.
Direction and Control
All student support is awarded based on objective, need-based criteria established and administered solely by the Diewert Foundation in collaboration with eligible post-secondary institutions.
Corporate Giving Standards
As a Canadian corporation, Cocendo may claim a charitable deduction for donations up to 75% of its net income for the year, in accordance with CRA rules.
